Antica Masseria "Antico Sigillo" Primitivo di Manduria, 2016 Mendoza Domaine de Pallus (estManduria is one of the best appellations in Puglia, with slightly higher vineyard altitude and richer soils. Juicy, big with dark blackberry reined in with structure. Puglia is in Southern Italy, and can get hot, producing overly ripe, floppy wines so this is a gem in its ability to show the region without the heavy hand. They pick the grapes in the morning when still cool and keep cold until pressing. Aged 6 months in large French oak barrels.
